Wessex Basin (Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire) shale basin
Wessex Basin (Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire) is one of the UK onshore shale basins on Brent & Beyond. Same Jurassic mudstones as the Weald (Kimmeridge Clay, Oxford Clay, Lias), mature for oil in deeper parts west of the Weald.
Gas in place is not recoverable gas. No UK recovery factor has been established; years of supply need a recovery factor first.
