Europe has 134 underground gas storage sites on this site with 1 569 TWh of technical working gas volume (GIE Storage Database, data as of Aug 2026). The largest by country are UA (321 TWh, 13 sites), DE (251 TWh, 30 sites), IT (203 TWh, 13 sites), Netherlands (141 TWh, 5 sites). Ukraine's figure includes sites that may not be usable.
